RESULTS Cav­ernous Mal­for­ma­tions (13)

CAV­ERNOUS MAL­FOR­MA­TIONS: Small tan­gle of thin walled blood ves­sels. There is no func­tion­ing brain tis­sue within the mal­for­ma­tion. These mal­for­ma­tions can bleed caus­ing focal neu­ro­logic deficits. In some patients seizures or headaches may occur.
