August 13 – Learning to live with ALS :

Handling emotions

When diagnosed with ALS, many afflicted persons and their families develop different emotional responses in handling fear, anger, guilt, grief and regret etc. This seminar aims at creating a forum for presenting key areas that are emotionally affected when people are diagnosed with a disease like ALS and provides an opportunity for the afflicted persons and caregivers to discuss the strategies that they use to navigate their emotions. These options can be very helpful in improving the quality of life for both the afflicted person and the caregiver.
