RES­PI­RA­TORY CHAL­LENGES WITH ALS

The main goal of this work­shop will be to under­stand the mech­a­nisms of res­pi­ra­tory prob­lems asso­ci­ated with Amy­otrophic Lat­eral Scle­ro­sis (ALS) so that care­givers are bet­ter equipped to pre­vent issues and pro­vide relief for the afflicted per­son. Peo­ple with ALS and health­care pro­fes­sion­als are also welcome.

COM­MU­NI­CA­TION ISSUES AND TECH­NI­CAL AIDS

The main goal of this work­shop is to explain the process of com­mu­ni­cat­ing, to be able to rec­og­nize the effects of ALS on com­mu­ni­ca­tion, to iden­tify ways of com­mu­ni­cat­ing with a per­son afflicted with ALS, and to learn about dif­fer­ent com­mu­ni­ca­tion aids, rang­ing from no tech­nol­ogy to low tech­nol­ogy to high technology.
